Barbering mens hair dressing (male grooming) is a specialised skill and is in huge demand at the moment. Specialised barbers are sought after throughout the whole industry.

The
Barbering Apprenticeship Course
is a worked based learning apprenticeship scheme
, delivers gents hair dressing and barbering, Levels 2 NVQ diploma and level 3 NVQ diploma in barbering, city and guilds verified.
In order to apply, please note the following criteria needs to be fulfilled:

Not
in full time education or will not be at the start of the programme

Not
an overseas national, subject to employment or learning
restrictions or have a limit on stay in the UK

Not
taking part in any other training programme

Settled
in the UK and has been a resident for at least 3 years

Completed
last year at school and GCSE's

Course Content NVQ level 2
· Health and safety · Consultation skills
· Reception duties · Customer care
· Cutting techniques · Razor work
· Colour · Practical sessions
· Demonstration sessions · Modules including theory work
· Hands on work shops
· How to professionally shampoo and condition hair
· Support and mentoring throughout the course
· Clipper work, basic patterns and tram lines
· Fashion show at the end off the course
Courses will be held one day a week, fortnightly.
Students must secure a placement in a barbers or a salon working
20 hours per week minimum.
Students must reach minimum standards required to qualify.
On completion the student will receive a Barber B certificate of achievement diploma and a city and guilds NVQ level 2 Barbering certificate

NVQ level 3 Barbering
- One year course delivered at piranha hair studio by BarberB and BDTS ltd.
This course is aimed at stylists who have already achieved hairdressing NVQ level 2 and level 3 and also those who are experienced in the industry and have not yet achieved a recognised qualification. By completing this course you will be presented with a BarberB certificate of achievement diploma and a city and guilds NVQ level 3 Barbering certificate.
The level 3 diploma in barbering offers students who have industry experience, a chance to accredit their skills and knowledge by improving and learning new techniques as set out by city and guilds new standards, it also gives students a chance to develop or create their own style and to become more confident within a working environment.
